Job Title: Teacher of Religious Education
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality Religious Education that encourages critical thinking, ethical reflection, and respect for diverse beliefs, values, and worldviews.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach RE in line with the agreed syllabus, GCSE Religious Studies specifications, and school ethos.
* Foster an inclusive classroom environment where respectful discussion is encouraged.
* Support students in developing analytical, evaluative, and extended writing skills.
* Encourage spiritual, moral, social, and cultural (SMSC) development.
Curriculum & Assessment
* Plan and deliver lessons that cover religious, philosophical, and ethical themes.
* Assess student work regularly and provide constructive feedback.
* Track student progress and implement interventions where needed.
Pastoral & Wider Responsibilities
* Contribute to whole-school assemblies, theme days, or interfaith events where appropriate.
* Support the school’s values and ethos.
* Act as a form tutor if required.
Safeguarding & Professional Duties
* Adhere to safeguarding and equality policies.
* Participate in CPD and departmental meetings.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues across the humanities faculty.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
* Degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject.
* Experience teaching RE at secondary level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
