Vacancy Information

Hourly rate of pay: £18.70 - £20.91 Temporary until 31st March 2026. Days and Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00 Days of work are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible. To start 21st July 2025. This post is being advertised as a fixed term post. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to East Lothian Works, the council's employability service, and will work across our schools and post-school teams. The post holder will develop strong relationships with council colleagues in Procurement, Connected Communities and with a range of external employers. The role will focus on Community Benefits in Procurement which is crucial within East Lothian Works. The role will negotiate added value from council contracts through our internal procurement team and with our external partner organisation Hub South East, negotiating a range of work experience opportunities, job opportunities, training and learning opportunities, equipment and materials for both school and all age adults post school employability provision. The individual will be solution focussed, proactive, and have a passion for delivering innovative employability provision. They will have experience in identifying and realising opportunities, be organised, be an effective communicator and facilitator, with the ability to negotiate in challenging situations. The successful candidate will work at pace and manage a variety of competing priorities. We are seeking applications from individuals who have a proven and successful track record within a sales environment. Relevant Qualifications Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Business, Education, Community Learning, Employability and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience. Evidence of engagement in continued professional development and lifelong learning. Driving Licence As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.* (*Where a disability precludes you from obtaining a driving licence, ELC will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.) PVG Membership This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
