We are looking for a Procurement Category Manager - Indirects to join our Production team at our head office in York.
As a Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing all indirect procurement activities. You will implement the overall category plan, utilizing techniques to consolidate and leverage spend to deliver maximum value. Your remit will be to lead on procurement categories and projects across the business.
In this role you will be required to:
* Design, implement and ensure effective collation of data and details for timely and accurate tracking and reporting of procurement to objectives and deliverables, covering all aspects of sourcing, procurement and contract management.
* Assist with developing an efficient and ethical supply chain, ensuring a robust, sustainable and cost‑effective supply base across all categories.
* Deliver key projects with cross‑functional teams whilst embedding processes and practices across the team and into the wider stakeholder community.
* Develop and maintain a high level of market intelligence.
* Deliver the best quality at the best price, staying up to date with market trends and challenges, and mitigating business risks.
* Optimise inventories, improve storage, workflows and processes that result in reducing costs.
* Lead and complete a number of continuous improvement projects to reduce costs.

Our Ideal Candidate
* Qualified to degree level (or above) or equivalent combined education and work experience.
* Previous experience as an Indirect Procurement Category Manager role.
* Extensive knowledge relevant to the job and field.
* Good analytical skills and the ability to build sound relationships.
* In‑depth knowledge of the company’s operating model and strong knowledge of contracting principles and practices.
* Proficiency in procurement management, communication, negotiation, supplier management, market research, budget management, inventory management, contract management, risk management and financial acumen.
