Job Description
Reporting into the Transport Manager, the Transport Planner will play a key role in coordinating daily transport operations, ensuring routes are optimised, costs are controlled, and service levels are consistently met. 3. Plan and optimise vehicle routes to maximise efficiency and reduce costs
4. Manage daily transport schedules, ensuring timely delivery performance
5. Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and external partners to coordinate operations
6. Monitor fleet utilisation and identify opportunities for improvement
7. Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, including driver hours and tachograph regulations
8. Respond to real-time operational issues and implement effective solutions
9. Maintain accurate records and generate operational reports
The Successful Applicant
The successful Transport Planner will come with the following:
10. Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role
11. Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance requirements
12. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
13. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
14. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
15. Proficient in transport management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office
