About Pride Veterinary Referrals
Pride Veterinary Referrals is a large, purpose‑built, state‑of‑the‑art referral hospital in Derby. The facilities include thirteen consultation rooms, seven hospital wards, five theatres, three ultrasound rooms, a cardiology suite, an advanced imaging suite with CT and MRI, interventional radiology capability, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills, and a dedicated chemotherapy room.

Pride Veterinary Referrals is set at the heart of the prize‑winning Pride Park development, amongst some amazing sporting facilities and commercial enterprises. The foothills of the Derbyshire Dales offer idyllic surroundings, whilst having the urban benefits of both Derby and Nottingham cities on the doorstep, and an international airport very close by.
Team & Culture
The successful applicant will join our established team of three ECVIM‑CA internal medicine diplomates, one ECVIM‑CA oncology diplomate, four ECVIM‑CA residents, two discipline‑specific interns, and dedicated medicine nurses. The team delivers specialist‑led care, with close collaboration between multidisciplinary diplomate‑driven services (internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, neurology, surgery, anaesthesia, and ophthalmology) to provide the best possible outcome for all patients.
The hospital works in conjunction with the University of Nottingham School of Veterinary Medicine, offering opportunities for collaborative work, including teaching of the final year students during their clinical rotations.
Applicant Requirements
* Desire to pursue a residency is not a requirement, however this one‑year internship is aimed at preparing the candidate for an internal medicine residency.
* The successful candidates will need to be members of the RCVS at the time of starting the internship.
* Proficiency in the English language.
* Excellent communication skills, reliability, ability to work and think clearly under pressure, and good interpersonal skills.
