We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Therapy Team on our Band 6 OT rotation. The role includes rotations through the following community and inpatient areas:
* Community – REACT (Emergency Assessment Community Team), Blue Bird Lodge – Community Hospital, St Elizabeth Hospice.
* Inpatient – Surgery, Medical/Oncology, Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU), Stroke, and Older Peoples' Services.

Main duties of the job
* Deliver a high standard OT service in designated clinical areas.
* Manage a defined complex caseload under the management of the Team Leader, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan and evaluate OT interventions, ensuring compliance with HCPC, RCOT, CQC and Trust clinical and quality standards.
* Ensure the safety of the patients in your care.
* Supervise and assist in the development of junior OTs, non-qualified staff and students on placement.
* Audit clinical practice and processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
* Be flexible in working in a 7‑day service with extended hours in specific settings.

Qualifications
* BSc / MSc Occupational Therapy
* HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
* Wheelchair assessor course
Experience
* Experience of multi-disciplinary working
* Comprehensive range of complex caseload management
* Experience of facilitating discharges from the acute setting and/or managing a caseload of patients within the community setting
* Experience of supervision and professional/clinical development of staff
* Experience of working with therapy assistants/Health care assistants
* In-service training and reflective learning
* Evidence of continuing professional development
Knowledge
* Knowledge of and application of OT assessments and interventions relevant to acute and community care
* Knowledge and application of OT models of practice
* Knowledge and adherence to infection control principles and guidelines
* Knowledge of Discharge to Assess Guidance and discharge pathways and approaches to discharge planning/therapy interventions
* Knowledge and application of relevant legislation and current best practice with in clinical/care settings (i.e. NICE guidelines)
* Knowledge and application of principles of clinical governance processes
* Health and Safety and risk awareness
* Knowledge of secondary prevention measure re: Clinical Frailty, falls prevention
* Knowledge of local community agencies, services and resources
