We are seeking an Engineering Shift Manager to join our Manufacturing Operation in Spalding.
The Engineering Shift Manager is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the manufacturing site.
Responsibilities include:
1. Minimizing Machinery Downtime: Proactive and predictive maintenance, along with swift responses to breakdowns, to ensure equipment is operational and production schedules are maintained.
2. Improving Performance: Continually seeking opportunities to enhance equipment performance through process optimization, upgrades, and data analysis.
3. Engineer Engagement: Fostering a positive work environment, providing training, and recognizing achievements to motivate the engineering team.
4. Asset Care Programme: Leading strategies to maintain assets, reduce costs, and adhere to best practices.
5. Hands-On Approach: Engaging directly in repairing and optimizing equipment to set an example and address issues promptly.
6. Maintenance Coordination: Collaborating with the Maintenance team to plan and execute maintenance activities efficiently.
7. Crisis Incident Management: Handling incidents, accidents, and near misses to ensure safety and conduct investigations for corrective actions.
8. Discipline and Grievance: Enforcing procedures to maintain order and address misconduct.
About you
Along with the ability to work at pace, you should have:
* Qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (e.g., ONC, BTEC Level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering)
* Proven experience in an engineering and fault-finding role within an FMCG environment, preferably in the food industry
* Experience in people management and delivering results through a team
* Understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE 18th edition wiring regulations
* Excellent communication skills
* Assertiveness and decision-making abilities
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic
