Lead Operator Manufacturing
Days / Night 12 hour shift pattern
Location/Division Specific Information:
Part of the Drug Products Division, the Swindon facility specialises in taking sterile injectable, oral solid dose and softgel drug products from development to commercialisation.
How Will You Make an Impact?:
Within your role as a nical Operator (Lead Formulation Technician) you will provide daily operational support to the Process Coordinator. You will focus on manufacturing, filling, inspection, and packing pharmaceuticals (both sterile and non-sterile). You will follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), ensuring compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices).
A Day in the Life:
1. Set up and operate bulk formulation, filling, inspection, and packing lines, ensuring correct processes for both sterile and non-sterile products.
2. Complete batch documentation accurately, perform in-process checks, and ensure compliance with SOPs to maintain high-quality standards.
3. Perform equipment checks, cleaning (including CIP and SIP activities), and report any issues.
4. Assist with project validation, new product introduction, SAP transactions, and work with quality systems for GMP changes.
5. Monitor team progress, track downtime, ensure accurate batch records, and provide leadership in the absence of the Production Coordinator.
6. Ensure all processes (manufacturing, filling, inspection, and packing) comply with GMP.
7. Support deviations and investigations and carry out good manufacturing practices.
8. Maintain a tidy and compliant environment.
9. Follow emergency procedures and ensure safe work systems are adhered to.
10. Report accidents, near misses, and breaches of safety protocols.
Education:
High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.
Experience:
11. Experience in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment (MHRA and FDA regulations).
12. Previous supervisory experience or ability to develop individuals.
13. Lean systems and continuous improvement experience (Green Belt preferred).
14. Aseptic block license (if required).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
15. Knowledge of clean room operations and aseptic manufacturing.
16. Strong English and Maths skills; a scientific background is crucial (, A-Levels).
17. Understanding of pharmaceutical systems with HMI involvement.
