Financial Controller

We are recruiting an experienced Financial Controller on behalf of a growing, purpose-led organisation operating in the sustainability and energy efficiency sector.
The role
This is a senior, hands-on finance position combining strong financial control with commercial partnering. The successful candidate will take ownership of financial reporting, compliance, and cash flow while supporting strategic decision-making across the business.
Key responsibilities:

Ownership of the general ledger and month-end close

Preparation of management accounts and statutory financial statements
*
Oversight of VAT, CIS, payroll accounting, and HMRC submissions
*
Managing audits and maintaining robust financial controls
*
Leading budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
*
Supporting pricing, cost control, and operational decision-making
*
Driving improvements to financial processes and systems
About you
*
ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
*
Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role
*
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and compliance
*
Commercially focused with excellent attention to detail
*
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
