About the role
* Perform welding activities on carbon steel, armour steel, aluminium
* Weld various joint configurations in all positions
* Ensure equipment parameters are set to the optimum to fully satisfy weld quality, integrity, and WPS requirements
* Review engineering drawings for parts to be welded
* Satisfy production schedules to the correct quality level and within the specified time scale
* Carry out and record the daily / weekly / monthly maintenance checks and record the necessary safety checks
* Ensure correct marking up of component parts
* Ensure that the labelling system is adhered to
About you
* Recent / relevant Welding / Fabrication Experience
* Understanding of quality procedures and specific customer requirements
* Ideally a coded welder
* Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures
* Proficient with metal fabrication tools
* Advanced mathematical and engineering skills
* Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
* Ability to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to generate innovative concepts and ideas
