About the role As a Production Operative you may be responsible for operating UHT processing equipment, monitoring production processes, and conducting quality checks throughout the production cycle. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment will play a crucial role in achieving our goals of exceptional product quality and operational efficiency. As a Production Operative your responsibilities may include transferring and packaging products accurately, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety while working efficiently to meet production targets. Production operatives will essentially assist in the manufacture of food products to the established standards of safety, output, quality and hygiene. As a key part of our operation, you will work across various areas of the plant, assisting in the manufacture of food products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and hygiene. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to achieving production targets efficiently and safely. You will also ensure that the working areas are kept clean and tidy at all times in line with laid down cleaning schedules and the Company’s “clean as you go” policy, managing the personal and business requirements of this policy to ensure Audit ready standards at all times. Working shift pattern's are rotational and a mix of early, late's & night shift* of a weekly basis. *Night working allowance payable where applicable, not all roles include nightshift Responsibilities (not all applicable for every role) Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in the decanting of raw materials and finished products according to specifications. Prepare packaging materials, ensuring correct labeling, coding, and container specifications. Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards, following cleaning schedules and implementing the factory’s "clean as you go" policy. Operate equipment to store, feed, mix, blend, extrude, and package food products while maintaining high standards of manufacturing practice. Conduct inspection, packing processes, ensuring product quality and compliance with weight control standards. Palletise, wrap, and label finished goods as required. Ability to move stock using onsite vehicles Accurately complete all relevant process and food safety documentation. Identify and report any discrepancies in materials, machinery, or final products to the Team Leader. Provide support in other departments when required, including during holiday and absence cover. Ensure all food safety, legality, and quality requirements are consistently met. Carry out any additional duties as assigned by Production Management. Requirements Previous experience in food manufacturing is desirable but not essential. Basic training will be provided, but numeracy and computer skills are an advantage. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Results-driven, ensuring all production targets are met. Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative. Physical stamina and capability to lift and move heavy products as necessary. Committed to continuous improvement and safe working practices. Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts as required.
