Reporting to the Vice President Growth and part of their leadership team, the Director of Marketing and Strategy is a visionary leader responsible for developing the Cubic Transportation Systems (CTS) strategic plan working closely with the CTS Senior Leadership team. They will lead the marketing and strategy team, partnering closely with all stakeholders to build the company’s brand as the industry thought leader. Responsible for overseeing all marketing activities enabling the company to achieve its growth plans. This position will typically work under limited supervision anddirection.Incumbentsof this position will regularly exercise discretionary and build substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Leadership of the marketing and strategy teams, oversee all marketing activities aligned to the annual operating plan (AOP) and Strategic plan.
* Partnering with the senior leadership team build and implement the CTS strategic plan.
* Responsible for building the CTS brand and marketing plan across multiple media, partnering closely with the Corporate Communication teams (including GR and PR).
* Actively seek to build CTS reputation as the industry thought leader partnering with internal and external subject matter experts.
* Develop marketing plans, manage the budget, allocate resources, and establish short- and long-term goals that maximize profitability and enhance competitive in the market.
* Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.
* Craft quarterly and annual hiring plans.
* Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features).
* An inspirational leader who fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, act as a talent scout build a world-class team, coach and mentor your team, establish and monitor goals aligned with the AOP.
* Maintain a current understanding current and emerging trends across the industry and function. Build a strong network both internally and externally to inform the strategic and marketing plans.
* Ensure our brand message is strong and consistent across all channels and marketing efforts (like events, email campaigns, web pages and promotional material).
* Define participation and sponsorships for virtual and in-person events for each assigned market.
* Identify growth opportunities and partner with the business development team to strategically cultivate new markets.
* In partnership with the Corporate communication team develop brand and product messaging for PR, social, digital and customer relationsactivities.Materialsinclude, but are not limited to, press releases, FAQ’s, fact sheets, media statements/quotes and copy for emails, website and social.
* Hybrid position with up to 25% travel domestic and international.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four year college degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred plus twelve years of relevant experience preferably in global marketing/business development, and strategic planning, plus five to eight years experience in management. Strong leadership style with a focus on enabling high performance and result orientated culture. Must have excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and oral communication skills. Prior industry experience or related desirable but not essential. Must be self-motivated, creative and can work closely in a team environment with other departments and individuals at all levels in the organization. Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. #LI-hybrid
