The Role
Are you a digital communications and engagement specialist with a passion for innovation, user experience, and driving meaningful connection through digital channels? We’re looking for a Digital Engagement Manager to join us on a short term contract until the end of March 2026 to lead our digital strategy and ensure our platforms deliver accessible, impactful experiences for our audiences.
You’ll join our communications team, a creative and collaborative environment where colleagues work across digital, content, media, and stakeholder engagement to support the organisation’s mission. We work closely with teams across Social Work England to ensure our digital presence reflects our values and supports our regulatory responsibilities.
About The Role
This is a pivotal role at the heart of our digital engagement work. You’ll lead the delivery of major digital outputs, including a portfolio of publications, consultations, and flagship events driving reach and engagement across multiple channels.
You’ll shape our digital content approach as we prepare for our next strategic period, ensuring our web, social media, and digital platforms deliver user‑centred, accessible experiences. You’ll oversee the performance and development of our digital channels, using analytics and evaluation to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.
Championing inclusive digital practice will be central to your role. You’ll embed accessibility and co‑production across all outputs, ensuring our content reaches and resonates with diverse audiences, including people with lived experience.
You’ll also provide advice across the organisation, partnering with teams to deliver user‑focused solutions for core services and high‑profile deliverables. This is a role for someone who combines creativity, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to deliver meaningful digital engagement in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven environment.
What You’ll Do
* Lead inclusive digital communications across publishing, web, and social media to enhance our digital presence and reach.
* Deliver high‑quality, user‑focused digital content informed by audience insight, ensuring it reflects our brand and values.
* Manage and inspire a small team to produce engaging, accessible content that meets user needs.
* Provide strategic digital leadership across the organisation, advising teams and supporting delivery of key services and campaigns.
* Collaborate with IT colleagues to shape the design and functionality of our online platforms using user research, testing, and personas.
* Build strong relationships with external stakeholders to extend our reach and protect our reputation.
* Use analytics and performance data to evaluate digital outputs and drive continuous improvement.
* Develop and embed digital policies and guidance, including social media governance, offering training and support where needed.
About You

* Is confident producing compelling multimedia content—such as blogs, podcasts, video, and animation—with a strong editorial eye and storytelling ability.
* Understands user needs and can map user journeys, using data and insight to create persuasive, audience‑driven recommendations.
* Can analyse digital performance and trends, identify risks, and develop solutions in collaboration with internal and external teams.
* Has experience designing and delivering programmes of work with strong governance and creative problem‑solving.
* Brings excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with a collaborative and solution‑focused approach.
