Full Job Description Job Overview Client is a specialist manufacturer and supplier of GRP (Glass Reinforced Polymer) permanent formwork solutions for bridge and civil structures. Client products are designed to provide bespoke solutions tailored to our clients' needs, offering versatility in shape, size, colour, and other preferences. With over 50 years of combined experience in the GRP industry, our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that save labour, improve safety, and reduce installation times. We are seeking an experienced, motivated and skilled Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs and present in house tailored solutions that leverage our cutting-edge technology offerings by thinking outside the box to make sure we are at the forefront of the industry. Duties Design bespoke GRP permanent formwork solutions for bridge and civil structures, including cantilever panels, haunched panels, Lite panels, and coper units. Utilize AutoCAD and Tekla for drawings, Excel for calculations, and Google SketchUp for design modelling. Collaborate with customers to understand their project requirements and provide tailored design solutions. Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards. Occasionally conduct site visits as necessary to assess project requirements and provide technical support. Assist in the development and improvement of Mek-Dek products, incorporating feedback from customers and industry trends. Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices related to composite materials, structural engineering, and design software. Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: Degree in Structural Engineering (or related field). Proficiency in AutoCAD & Tekla. Knowledge of composite materials and structural steel is desirable. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel to site locations and engage with customers as needed. Adaptability to remote work environment with effective time management skills.
