Project architect Job in Southampton, Hampshire
We are currently working with an architectural practice in the Southampton area, that has a available, taking a lead role in the running of projects and team leading.
This firm, situated in the heart of the city, specialises in both residential and commercial projects within the local area. Their goal is to provide top-notch service to clients throughout every stage of a project, offering innovative yet practical designs. With expansion plans in mind, they prioritize maintaining a supportive atmosphere for their staff.
Their initial projects involve developing housing and converting commercial spaces into residential units. Currently facing a heavy workload, they are on the lookout for a project architect to assist the Managing Director in project management duties.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Analyse Planning Policy, NPPF, and Permitted Development rights to develop effective strategies that optimize project outcomes and potentials
2. Prepare, submit, and oversee Planning Applications, ensuring compliance with regulations
3. Create Design & Access Statements, Schedules of Works, Tender Reports, and other necessary documentation
4. Assist in designing and implementing internal office processes and documentation systems
5. Take charge of architectural project work, leading its design and execution
6. Coordinate an internal team comprising Part 1, Part 2, Architectural Technologists, and subconsultants
7. Engage with clients and participate in all visits and meetings essential for project delivery
8. -Fulfil Contract Administration responsibilities as required.
Required Skills & Experience
9. ARB qualified Architect
10. Have a minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience
11. Track record of working on UK based residential projects is essential
12. Experience in conversion of commercial to residential projects would be beneficial
13. Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
14. Experience in leading Junior team members
15. Skilled AutoCAD is essential
16. Ability to use Revit is beneficial as the practice is planning on introducing the software next year but full training will be provided
17. Possess excellent communication skills both spoken and written.
