Mencap are seeking Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in Great Tey.
Due to the location of this service in the Essex countryside, there are not great public transport links, this means thatit is essential that you have your own transport. We would also like you to hold a full clean driver’s licence as some of the people we support have their own cars.
As a Relief Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
There are 6 people that share their home and who we support to make sure they live the best lives possible.
What we're looking for:
·A genuine passion for supporting others.
·Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
·Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
·A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
This role requires you to have your own transport as public transport is very unreliable and will impact your ability to fulfil this role.
Contract options:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
There is also a non contractual sleep-in available where you willreceive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.70.
JOB ID:
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
We are an equitable, diverse and inclusive organisation and we particularly welcome and encourage disabled applicants and those from the Black and Asian communities to apply for the role as they are under-represented within the workforce.
* Flexibility to work the hours you choose
* Annual leave entitlement based on hours accrued
* Ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills.
* A supportive and inclusive work environment where your contributions are valued.
Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
