Employment & Training Advisor (RESTART) x 1 (FTE)
Job Summary/Purpose
To support, guide, and train unemployed customers with complex barriers to improve their chances of gaining suitable, sustainable employment. To ensure high standards of customer care.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
* Build relationships with customers and help them identify and work through barriers to employment.
* Engage with customers creatively and inclusively.
* Manage a caseload, using diagnostic tools to develop individual action plans.
* Work with customers one-on-one or in groups, maintaining regular contact and providing ongoing support.
* Interview customers to understand their needs and potential.
* Motivate and support customers with tailored packages to meet their needs.
* Use a positive attitude to find solutions to barriers.
* Deliver employability and soft skills training, including CV writing, interview techniques, digital skills, and job search.
* Maintain customer records per MTIB standards.
* Act as a role model and support customer empowerment.
* Help customers plan and progress towards employment and personal goals.
* Achieve key performance indicators and meet deadlines.
* Maintain accurate IT and administrative records for management reporting.
* Contribute to continuous improvement, customer focus, and team effectiveness.
* Support colleagues and promote our social values.
* Respect diversity and uphold confidentiality, including an Enhanced DBS check.
Attributes and Qualifications
* Good general education (e.g., GCSE English and Maths) – Essential
* QCF Information Advice & Guidance Level 3 or 4 – Desirable
* QCF Customer Service Level 3 or 4 or equivalent experience – Desirable
* QCF Level 3 in Assessing Vocational Achievement – Desirable
* Willingness to undertake employability sector training – Essential
Applicants must have a full, clean driving license or alternative transport provisions. The role involves local travel. An Enhanced DBS check is required.
