Our world-leading Time & Frequency departmentare seeking an experiencedService Operations Engineer.
You will be joining our team at an exciting time - we maintain theUKs National Time Scale, UTC (NPL), and are currently developingthe UK's first resilient Time Scale facilitythat will underpin Digital Infrastructure. This will address the risks associated with our dependency on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (such as GPS) that are vulnerable to both natural and intentional interference.
AsService Operations Engineer, you will enjoy a pivotal role in the operation and management of UK Digital Infrastructure thatpushesthe boundaries of measurement accuracy for the UKs new resilient Time Scale.
Key responsibilities:
Reporting to Tower Lead, you will support the development, deployment and operation of tools / systems within Time and Frequency infrastructure, including
1. Planning, deployment and operation of components
2. Implementing systems and processes (such as ITSM and ITIL)
3. Developing IT management systems and performance indicators
4. Partnering with prominent Scientists and experts in Cybersecurity to ensure service readiness
5. Building operation practices and routines (such as monitoring and responding to alerts / alarms / threshold breaches / incidents / reported problems)
