Senior Estimator - Leading Construction Company

Up to £60,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Bonus Scheme
We're working with a leading construction company based in Glasgow, who have been established for over a decade. They are known for delivering high-quality commercial projects across Scotland. Due to planned growth they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their pre-construction team where you will play a pivotal role in pricing upcoming work and securing new contracts. This role is ideal for someone with estimating experience gained in either a main contractor or subcontractor environment who's ready to take the next step in their career.
The Opportunity
This is a senior-level position offering genuine autonomy, a stable pipeline of work, and the chance to work closely with a highly experienced Estimating Director. You'll lead on a variety of tenders ranging up to £25m in value and work on a range of different commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and competitive tenders for a wide range of construction projects
* Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents to build detailed cost plans
* Identify value engineering opportunities and provide alternative cost solutions
* Participate in tender reviews and clearly communicate pricing rationale
* Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues across departments
* Keep up to date with market pricing, material costs, and construction trends
What We’re Looking For
* Estimating experience with a main contractor or subcontractor (Construction, fit out, subcontractor background)
* Strong knowledge of UK construction methods, materials, and cost structures
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills
* Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
* Clear communicator written and verbal
* Organised, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple live tenders
* Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team culture
