Environmental Protection Officer\n\nHourly Rate: Negotiable, dependent on experience\nLocation: Reading,\nJob Type: Temporary (Part-time, 2 days per week)Our client are seeking an Environmental Protection Officer on a temporary basis to backfill a position for a team member who has been seconded to another project. This role is crucial for maintaining standards of environmental protection, focusing on issues such as noise nuisance and rat control. The position starts from the beginning of September and will last for approximately 3 months.\n\nDay-to-day of the role:\n\nRespond to customer enquiries regarding various Environmental Protection issues, with a primary focus on noise nuisance and rats.\nReview each enquiry and carry out the initial response, which may include sending appropriate letters, making phone calls, sending emails, and conducting initial site visits to investigate the issues.\nProduce brief reports following site visits to inform the team for necessary follow-up actions.\nWork closely with residents, businesses, and other council teams to address and resolve environmental protection concerns.\nThe role can be adapted based on the experience of the candidate, but the core responsibilities will remain aligned with the essential functions of an Environmental Protection Officer.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications:\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nDemonstrated enthusiasm for environmental protection.\nExperience in conducting noise nuisance investigations and rat inspections is preferred.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nCapable of managing multiple tasks and responding effectively to complex situations.\n\nBenefits:\n\nFlexible working days (2 days per week).\nSupportive team environment.\nOpportunity to contribute to the community's environmental well-being.To apply for this Environmental Protection Officer position, please submit your CV detailing your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
