Come and join our team at Parexel’s Early Phase Clinical Unit in Harrow as a Clinical Catering Assistant. This is a BANK role offering flexible shifts with up to 37.5 hours per week, including rotational weekends.
The main purpose of the job is to distribute food and beverages to clinical trial participants and maintain the catering area.
Job Responsibilities:
* Providing meals to participants
* Coordinating and ordering food from caterers for volunteers in cooperation with the study team
* Distributing food and beverages to trial participants according to study protocol and internal requirements
* Supervising volunteers during mealtimes and assisting them with catering requirements as needed
* Ensuring menus have macro-nutrients checked by the Dietician
Following study protocol:
* Ensuring meals are correct (ingredients and macro-nutrients) and distributed as per protocol timing
* Documenting meal and beverage start and stop times when required by the study
* Documenting beverage distribution times and volumes as per source data agreement
* Weighing food before and after as demanded by the protocol
* Estimating percentage consumption when required by protocol
Maintaining catering area:
* Storing food and beverages according to specific storage requirements
* Performing quality checks on expiry dates of stored food and drinks
* Cleaning and maintaining kitchen and equipment
* Maintaining stock levels
* Overseeing staff kitchen areas and stock levels as needed
Unit support:
* Hospitality setup and overseeing food orders
* Performing other tasks as assigned by the manager and based on the needs of the EPCU
Skills & Experience:
* Experience in restaurant or canteen work or equivalent
* Basic English knowledge
* Ability to work under pressure and multitask during high workload times
* Ability to work in shifts (early, late)
* Availability to work on weekends and holidays
* Ability to operate dishwashers, heated catering trolley ovens, kitchen ovens, and other machinery safely
