Lead GP Role at HMP Long Lartin
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead GP to join our team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A prison based in South Littleton, Worcestershire. The site is approximately 10 minutes from Evesham and 45 minutes from Birmingham. The role involves managing a high level of long-term condition patient needs, providing end-to-end care, leading the GP and ANP team, and covering ward rounds in a small inpatient unit.
Hours
Part-time, 32 hours per week over 4 days, with flexible shift times (e.g., 8:30 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm). We are open to different hours if required. The annual salary is up to £130,000 FTE, depending on experience.

Requirements
Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Employment offers are subject to vetting and security checks due to the sensitive nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide medical leadership and expert advice on primary care issues
* Support GPs and ANPs with peer review and clinical supervision
* Oversee induction of new GPs
* Implement evidence-based practices via benchmarking and guidelines
* Manage systems for results, correspondence, and tasks
* Support development of Local Operating Policies
* Assist the Head of Healthcare at Local Delivery Board meetings
* Participate in recruitment activities for GPs and locum/agency GPs

Qualifications
* MBChB or MBBS with GMC registration
* RCGP 1 and 2, with experience working with patients with substance misuse and long-term conditions
* Knowledge of clinical quality assurance methods
* Ability to build collaborative partnerships
* Experience in prison or secure environments is desirable but not essential
