Job Title: Senior Veterinary Surgeon
Location: Kirkcaldy
Hours: 40 hours, 4-day week, 1:4 weekends (Saturday morning) with time off in lieu. No OOHs.
Practice: St Clair’s Veterinary
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Overview
We’re seeking a Senior Vet to partner with our Clinical Director in maintaining clinical excellence, supporting team growth, and contributing to the ongoing success of our practice. Responsibilities
* Partner with the Clinical Director to maintain clinical excellence and lead the team.
* Support, guide, and mentor the clinical team; lead with purpose and elevate standards of care.
* Coordinate clinical workflow and contribute to the development of the team.
* Provide a broad range of small animal work including consultation, surgery, hospitalised patient care, and involvement in urgent and emergency cases.
* Make clinical decisions, interpret diagnostics, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and regulations.
* Collaborate with Senior Leadership to drive the clinic forward and ensure excellent client care.
* Mentor and engage veterinary and nursing staff to foster clinical development and high-quality standards.
* Share best practices and help implement progressive clinical standards.
* Demonstrate leadership, strong communication, and organisational skills in a busy hospital environment.
What We’re Looking For
* Ability to develop the team through coaching, mentoring, and one-to-one support.
* Confident in monitoring and auditing clinical standards and driving continuous improvement in quality of care.
* Experience coordinating clinical workflows within a busy practice.
* A GP vet working towards a certificate or a certificate holder, with a passion for small animal work across consulting, surgery, inpatient care, and emergencies.
* Strong clinical decision-making, the ability to interpret diagnostics, and calm under pressure.
* Collaborative attitude that supports positive team culture and client relations.
* Commitment to professional excellence, ongoing learning, and adherence to regulatory standards.
* Clear, compassionate client communication and outstanding patient care across all interactions.
* Willingness to mentor staff and share best practices to raise clinical standards.
