Interim Transformation Director – Commercial Property
Location: Bristol (2 days per week onsite)
Contract Length: 9 months
Rate: Up to £900p/d Via Umbrella
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interim Commercial Property Transformation Director to lead the strategic transformation of a large public sector commercial and investment estate. This role will drive performance improvement, strengthen governance, and lead the delivery of high-value transformation programmes across a complex property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a full strategic review of the commercial and investment estate, assessing performance, risk and opportunity.
* Design and implement a future operating model for property and asset management.
* Drive transformation programmes including asset commercialisation, storage strategy and depot transformation.
* Provide leadership across property development and investment teams.
* Oversee the development pipeline ensuring commercial viability and alignment with regeneration priorities.
* Strengthen governance, accountability and decision-making frameworks.
* Lead financial planning, investment appraisal and budget management.
* Manage stakeholder relationships including senior leaders, members and external partners.
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and audit requirements.
* Drive performance, accountability and continuous improvement across teams.
Key Requirements
* Chartered Surveyor (RICS) or equivalent commercial property experience.
* Extensive experience in commercial property investment, asset management and regeneration.
* Proven track record delivering large-scale transformation or estate strategy programmes.
* Strong leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
* Strong commercial awareness including financial modelling and investment appraisal.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
* Experience working within public sector or highly regulated environments.
* Ability to lead complex, high-risk programmes balancing commercial and political priorities.
