English Teacher Vacancy in Derbyshire
We are working with a reputable school in Derbyshire that is looking to recruit a passionate and reliable English Teacher to join their team after the Easter break. The role is full-time for the remainder of the current academic year, with potential for a permanent position starting from September 2025.
This is a full-time, five-day-a-week position open to both ECTs and experienced teachers.
The successful candidate will teach various classes across Key Stage 3 and 4, actively participate in departmental and school activities, attend meetings, and be available for parents’ evenings. You will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that challenge students, mark work, and provide feedback in line with Assessment for Learning (AfL) strategies.
The school is rated 'Good' for behaviour, attitude, personal development, and leadership. Pupils respect each other and staff, fostering a caring environment. The leadership team maintains high expectations, encouraging students to succeed. Many pupils participate in clubs and activities such as music, drama, sports, and groups promoting tolerance and respect.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:
* Degree in English or related field with a good classification
* Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, QTS, etc.) in English
* Previous experience working with young people (references available)
* Experience teaching in a secondary school (references available)
* Recent safeguarding training (within last year)
* Recent Prevent awareness training (within last 3 years)
* Up-to-date behaviour management and FGM training (training can be provided)
Eligibility Requirements through Prospero Teaching:
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the update service or willingness to process a new application
* Two professional references
