Salary: £45,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a candidate who has proven experience in a 3rd Line / Senior Engineer role within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment. You should possess strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Intune, alongside an excellent understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and Windows Server environments. Experience with RMM tools, security platforms, and endpoint management is essential, as is familiarity with tools and platforms such as Mimecast, Avanan, SentinelOne, MDR/XDR, Fortinet, Huntress, Datto, and Autotask. You should demonstrate strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams. Familiarity with Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, and other frameworks such as NIST and ISO27001 is important, along with a commitment to producing clear documentation and sharing knowledge. Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Solutions Expert, CompTIA Security, CISSP or similar cybersecurity qualifications, ITIL Foundation, and any vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Fortinet, SentinelOne, Datto). Responsibilities: As a Senior 3rd Line IT Engineer, you will act as the primary escalation point for complex 2nd/3rd line incidents and service requests involving infrastructure, networking, Azure, Microsoft 365, and cybersecurity. You will manage and maintain client systems and centralized services, including Mimecast, Avanan, SentinelOne, MDR/XDR, Fortinet, DR/BC, Huntress, Autotask, and Datto RMM. You will be responsible for providing and presenting clients with centralized services reports and conducting cybersecurity reviews. Collaboration with our Project team on deployments, migrations, automations, and upgrades across both on-premises and cloud environments will be key. Additionally, you will develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to assist the Service Desk with first-response troubleshooting and contribute to continual service improvement by reviewing recurring incidents and identifying training or process opportunities. As a mentor, you will provide technical guidance to Service Desk engineers and ensure that all systems and processes align with best practices in cybersecurity, resilience, and performance.
