Responsibilities
* Design, develop, implement, and improve safe and environmentally responsible manufacturing processes utilising industry standard practices.
* Utilise processes to ensure that components and assemblies meet all internal and external customer quality specifications (Customer requirements, AS9100, and NADCAP).
* Implement processes that are efficient in terms of equipment/material use and human resources.
* Coordinate, direct and prioritize Production Engineering activities to focus on quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
* Lead Production Engineering responsibilities within the organisation while maintaining compliance to regulatory and customer requirements.
* Design equipment, gauging, and tooling using modelling software and other engineering analysis/design tools; work with suppliers and purchasing to procure equipment, tooling, and supplies as required. Specific equipment requirements include manual assembly, semi-automatic equipment and electronic/electrical assembly.
* Mentor others in Production Engineering competencies, processes, and concepts.
* Troubleshoot and improve processes including assembly and testing of products produced.
* Troubleshoot, recommend and implement changes in products and processes to improve manufacturability and profitability; work with production staff across the organisation to implement projects and foster an inclusive culture.
* Collaborate with the design engineering team to aid design and improvement of processes (DFM&A).
* Provide functional and technical support to the organisation to support goals.
* Support launches through the NPI & PM team to achieve a flawless launch; provide support to Transition projects to achieve a flawless transition into rate production.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
* Industry experience of MRP/ERP software, including production routings, BOM, Part master control, assembly & subcontract structures.
* Knowledge of process design, including equipment and tooling with demonstrated results.
* Mechanical and electrical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting and recommending improvements to product and process.
* Working knowledge in a manufacturing quality environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience of managing/leading people.
* Strong project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from production associates to the leadership team.
* Experience with NADCAP (or other industry standards) audits preferred.
* Previous lean and/or Six Sigma practical experience, with demonstrated results preferred.
