Job Description:
Job Description
Are you a Mechanical Engineer with a background in finite element analysis, who thrives on difficult problems? Are you drawn to complex analysis projects and excited by the opportunity to rapidly move into leadership positions, heading projects and guiding junior engineers?
If so, you might enjoy solving the energy industry’s most important conundrums across various clients. You could be extending the life of reactors, demonstrating the integrity of new build stations, assessing fusion system components, supporting UK Submarine and SMR programmes, or enabling renewable energy projects within a growing carbon net zero portfolio. The role involves juggling several projects simultaneously, so adaptability is essential. The constant is the complex nature of the jobs and the opportunity to provide innovative solutions to a range of problems for appreciative clients.
Involved in energy-related projects, you'll develop engineering solutions to challenging problems, contributing significantly to UK and global energy and environmental security.
If you are a self-starter capable of managing multiple projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to capture requirements, set up projects, and deliver right-first-time solutions, we encourage you to apply.

Role requirements:
You will work within small to medium multidisciplinary teams, benefiting from collective experience, fostering innovative thinking, and working in a collaborative environment at least half of your working week. You should bring commercial awareness to deliver tasks efficiently across multiple workstreams within time, quality, and budget constraints.
* Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or relevant qualification).
* Experience in delivering complex stress analyses or structural integrity assessments (thermal-mechanical, fracture, fatigue, creep, impact).
* Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports (assessment reports, basis of analysis, safety cases).
* Ability to engage with clients, work on-site, and understand their issues, goals, and processes.
Preferred experience (but not mandatory):
* Working or authoring bids in safety-critical, regulated environments.
* Familiarity with codes like ASME III, RCC-M, BS7910, R3, R5, R6.
* Experience in workflow automation using Python.
* Chartered status or nearing professional registration.
