The Role
The function of the Prescribing Management Team is to promote safe, effective and economic use of medicines, and to facilitate integrated patient-focused care that meets the present and anticipated needs of the population of NHS Lanarkshire, in accordance with local and national strategies. The post-holder is responsible for the planning, co-ordination, collation, analysis and management of prescribing data and efficiencies across NHS Lanarkshire. The role is integral to delivery of the Prescribing Quality and Efficiency Service (PQES) and the Pharmacotherapy Service where you will influence and implement change in prescribing practice. The post-holder will identify new opportunities to utilise prescribing systems to identify areas for targeted review, analysis and audit.

What we'll need you to bring
1. Pharmacy Technician, NVQ3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Equivalent.
2. Registrant with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
3. HNC Pharmacy services or relevant equivalent qualification.
4. Portfolio demonstrating competence of previous and current pharmacy practice skills, knowledge and continuing professional development.
5. Extensive post-qualification experience in hospital, community pharmacy or primary care.
6. Evidence of ability to work proactively with limited supervision.
7. Post qualification experience as a pharmacy technician providing a broad understanding of a range of technical practice, including staff management.
8. Experience managing junior members of staff.
9. Basic knowledge of role of HSCP in provision of health care.
10. Demonstrate clinical understanding of medicines use.
11. Awareness of law and good practice related to prescribing, storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
12. Evidence of good analytical skills.
13. Excellent written and verbal skills.
14. Excellent inter-personal skills.
15. Computer literate with good IT skills.
16. Evidence of service development
17. Knowledge of, and some experience in, the use of the main prescribing support computer systems, e.g. VISION.
18. Knowledge and experience in the use of the main data systems in use nationally, i.e. PRISMS and PIS.
19. Car Driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence to the specific job requirements and access to a car.

The working pattern for this role 9:00 - 17:00.
