The Permanent Division of Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Shipping/Trading Assistant on behalf of a Global Sales and Distribution business with offices in Towcester.
The Role:
As Shipping/Trading Assistant you will work across the Commercial and Finance Support teams looking after a range of tasks:
Shipping
1. Export Management of Shipping Docs - Liaising with parties involved in the export of containers from the UK and Ireland. Collating and sending off Export shipping documents from suppliers and agents to the bank and customer.
2. Import Management of Shipping Docs - Liaising with parties involved in the import of containers from South America, Australia and New Zealand. Collating and sending off import shipping documents from suppliers to forwarding agents, shipping lines and port authorities.
3. Transport & Deliveries (Containers) - communicate with agent at the port about delivery dates and locations for imported containers. Arranging the delivery of imported containers with customers, cold stores and forwarding agents.
4. Clearance invoice processing and general Invoice matching - using the AS400 to match supplier invoices against estimated costs.
Your Profile
You will have a strong admin background and ideally have worked in a shipping or logistics based business previously.
