Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead a project to enhance the urogynaecology service, collaborating with community teams and allied health professionals. Responsibilities include delivering education and training to trainees and multi-professional groups, mentoring, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and developing community pelvic health hubs. The role offers insight into medical education infrastructure at Trust and KSS Deanery levels.
Key duties involve scoping and leading projects focused on investigation and diagnosis, stakeholder engagement, progress monitoring, and supporting colleagues. The post holder will participate in meetings and engage with decision-making processes across leadership, education, and organisational change. They will attend BSMS, regional, and national educational events, liaise with BSMS Programme Team and NHS England Workforce, Training and Education Directorate, and complete a PG Cert in Healthcare Leadership and Commissioning. Knowledge sharing is expected, including presenting a poster to programme sponsors and stakeholders.
The role comprises 60% project work aimed at service improvement, and 40% clinical duties including second-tier on-call support, outpatient sessions, and departmental operations.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
JOB PLAN
Three days non-clinical 0.6 FTE (60% full time) for leadership and education fellowship work – leading specified project work and participating in the development programme, including attendance at BSMS for the academic modules, Learning Network attendance and personal study.
The days for module attendance vary, but it is asked that Fridays are one of the non-clinical days, so that all Fellows are available on those days for contact.
The remaining time can be allocated to clinical duties.
