Job title: Cover Supervisor/Teacher

Location: Wetheringsett Manor, Suffolk, IP14 5QX

Salary: £30,000.00 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Fixed Term (Until July 2026), Term Time only

We have an exciting opportunity for a Cover Supervisor/Teacher to join our dedicated team at Wetheringsett Manor School.

About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor/Teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of subjects, primarily to KS3 and KS4 pupils aged 11-19. You’ll provide essential cover during staff absences and contribute to intervention lessons for individual and small groups. You’ll play a vital role in supporting our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision, working closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to promote inclusion and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging lessons across the national curriculum and vocational courses

Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment

Support the development of SEN provision, including pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs

Collaborate with therapy teams to tailor learning to pupil needs

Assist in planning and delivering targeted intervention sessions

Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

Contribute to school policies and participate in school development initiatives

Who We’re Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferable but not essential

Qualified teacher or equivalent with experience teaching KS3/4 pupils

Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly those with complex needs or SEMH

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Commitment to the school’s vision and inclusive ethos

About the School

Wetheringsett Manor School is a new independent day SEMH School for up to 100 pupils aged 7-18. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

Wetheringsett Manor School has gone through significant refurbishment and is based in Suffolk, East Anglia and opened to pupils in November 2020. The Manor House is located in 17 acres of parkland with wooded boundaries and sits on the edge of the village of Wetheringsett. The accommodation also provides several other buildings including a converted stable block, a cottage and two industrial units.

We pride ourselves in steering pupils in the right direction, nurturing aspiration to progress them both academically and socially to encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Socially, we build confidence in our students, so they are able to have a greater understanding of the wider community in which they live.
