Metalis is working with a variety of manufacturing companies located throughout Rotherham & Sheffield who are looking for experienced Manual Machinists to join the team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate machine tools including heavy‑duty centre lathes, borers, mills, and bandsaws.
- Carry out centre lathe turning to specified tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Select appropriate tooling and machining methods to meet job specifications.
- Measure and inspect components to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Perform minor machine maintenance and adjustments to keep equipment running efficiently.
- Work collaboratively within a team committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties within your capability.
Shifts & Salary
£16.00ph - £18.00ph (DOE). Mixture of shifts – days & afternoons, days & nights. Overtime available.
The ideal candidate will have
- Previous machining experience.
- MUST be flexible to work shifts.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Desire to produce quality work with pride.
