Job Description
Controllers ensure that the firm meets all financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure profitability and risks associated with the firm's business and ensure compliance with regulations concerning transactions in financial markets.
Our Impact
We manage the firm's liquidity, capital, and risk, providing financial control and reporting functions. Our work includes assessing creditworthiness, monitoring market risks, and supporting regulatory compliance, contributing directly to the firm's success. The role is suitable for collaborative individuals with strong ethics and attention to detail.
Business Unit
The Controllers group safeguards the firm's assets, maintains financial integrity, and ensures profitable and efficient operations. It involves deep engagement with Goldman Sachs' businesses, products, and technology systems, supporting private funds within the Asset Management division.
Product Control Team Responsibilities
* Perform profit and loss analyses regularly
* Verify prices for accurate valuation
* Assess new trades for valuation and disclosure
* Analyze the trading business's balance sheet and funding
* Prepare financial statements and disclosures
* Collaborate on external reports like earnings releases and 10Q/10K disclosures
Requirements
* Qualified CA/CFA/CMA
* Strong analytical skills
* Numerate background or experience with complex financial topics
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
* Proactive, enthusiastic, team-oriented
* Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
* Attention to detail, sound judgment, integrity
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
