A local college for Autistic pupils in Sunderland requires a SEND Tutor. This is a full time role which is long term and is for a September start (potentially lasting for one year). We are looking for candidates with experience of working in an education setting such as a school or college and the interest to work with 16 – 25 year old learners with Autism. Ideally you will have experience of working with SEN pupils but this is not essential; the willingness and interest to learn is key.
Ideally this SEND Tutor position will require you to be able to provide general teaching at level 1 in Maths and English and Drama and other subjects.
The ideal SEND Tutor candidate would:
* Have good classroom management skills
* Have a passion for supporting the learning of pupils
* Have excellent subject knowledge
* Be able to organise themselves and work well within a team
* Have had previous experience working with ASD pupils
In addition, you must:
• Have a DBS form or be prepared to obtain one
