We are seeking a highly motivated Program Accountant to join our Finance Team in London. With growing program activity, Program Accountants will manage their portfolios and support senior staff in program reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information for projects and donors.
About the Role
As a Program Accountant, you will:
1. Ensure accurate and timely month-end accounting and reporting for your projects.
2. Handle budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, supporting the annual reforecast process.
3. Ensure donor reporting aligns with requirements, timelines, and contractual obligations.
4. Represent finance on project boards as needed.
5. Assist in preparing budget proposals for donors.
6. Prepare and present financial reports to management.
7. Provide financial guidance to stakeholders for decision-making.
8. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and donor regulations.
9. Collaborate with program staff to provide financial insights for project completion within budgets.
10. Contribute to improving financial processes and systems.
11. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
12. Potentially manage a project accountant.
About You
Qualified accountant with at least 5 years' experience in program accounting, preferably in a charity. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with strong knowledge of financial processes and ability to work under pressure.
