Social Worker – Care Experience Children’s Team – Bridgend County Borough Council
Brought into the Care Experience Children’s Team as a part‑time position (30 hours per week), this role focuses on supporting children aged 0‑15 on the conclusion of care proceedings and those placed for adoption. The team is highly supportive, driven, and places the voice of the child at the centre of all work.
* Facilitate a multi‑agency approach to create lasting permanency for children.
* Aim to keep children safe, happy and healthy while supporting relationships and helping them understand their past and present experiences.
* Work alongside social workers, assistants, deputy team managers and senior practitioners to deliver high‑quality care.
* Case manage a manageable caseload and participate in the duty rota.
* Deliver direct work with children and their families, helping them progress toward their goals.
* Apply a strengths‑based approach under the Local Authority’s “Signs of Safety/Signs of Stability” framework.
* Drive practice forward within the team, using the model’s principles.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Relevant social work qualification and experience in a related child‑care setting.
* Enhanced Criminal Records Check – Children’s Barred List (DBS) is mandatory.
* Valid driving licence.
* Welsh language proficiency (required to greet customers).
* Strong commitment to the protection of children, young people and adults at risk.
* Experience working with safeguarding and multi‑agency teams is an asset.
