An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher of Art and/or Photography to join our outstanding Art & DT department. The Art department is strong and well-led with both Art & Photography at KS4&5. There is a well-developed curriculum and a strong focus on excellent teaching and learning, multiple opportunities for students to take part in extra-curricular activities and a range of trips.
The successful applicant will:
1. be an outstanding classroom teacher;
2. have a proven and demonstrable track record of success at KS3, KS4 & 5;
3. have a good understanding of the current educational developments, especially those relating to classroom-based practice;
4. have the highest expectations of students;
5. have the ability to lead whole school improvement;
6. have an enthusiastic and positive approach within and beyond the classroom;
7. have energy, stamina and a sense of humour.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
12. Qualified teacher status/PGCE
13. University Graduate
14. Evidence of further professional development
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
15. Ability to teach National Curriculum in your subject in at least two Key Stages.
PARTICULAR KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
16. A knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum and KS4/5 courses.
17. An ability to develop effective curriculum resources in your subject to meet the needs of the full ability range.
18. An understanding of the strategies required to motivate and enthuse all students across the age and ability range to progress in your subject as part of a while school approach to raising achievement.
19. An understanding of the processes and techniques required to assess, record and report students’ learning effectively.
20. A strong commitment to the principles and practices of Assessment for Learning
21. A commitment to developing Literacy, Numeracy and IT in your subject
22. An ability to use ICT programmes and packages to promote learning
23. An understanding of the role of your subject within the wider curriculum.
24. An understanding of the importance of, and a willingness to participate in, extra-curricular activities.
25. An ability to work as a member of a team to promote coherent and agreed policies and practice
