Responsibilities
- Take technical responsibility for project execution and engineering deliverables in accordance with contract and agreed timeline.
- Manage assigned portion of product design and development, ensuring project schedules are maintained.
- Monitor progress, identify any areas of concern, and manage customer expectations.
- Support sales by preparing data analysis and collection before project start.
- Support colleagues during technical and commercial negotiations.
- Plan across multiple project milestones and resources to ensure engineering is delivered on time.
- Ensure designs remain within project cost constraints.
- Manage engineering resources, both internal and external, to meet project requirements.
- Manage delivery of motor and component lists and coordinate with the automation department.
- Visit sites worldwide to attend meetings, monitor erection, and commissioning.
- Read and understand technical drawings (mechanical, electrical, and piping).
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft programmes, particularly Word formatting and documentation presentation.
- Strong communication and team‑working skills, both oral and written, with proven effective communication in formal and informal business environments.
- Experience working in a technical department of an OEM delivering CAPEX projects.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving ability, focusing on both overall results and finer details.
- Self‑motivated and able to undertake structured writing in the form of technical reports.
- Project management experience, including project planning and on‑time delivery of assignments.
- Understanding of engineering products and plant.
- Proven experience in 2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Solid Edge, Autodesk Inventor) and PLM experience is a plus.
