We are looking for a dedicated, resilient and experienced SEMH Learning Support Assistant to support students in a secondary school environment. This role is ONLY suitable for candidates with prior SEMH experience and is an excellent opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people who need it most
⚠️ PLEASE NOTE:
✅ Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs is ESSENTIAL
❌ This role is not suitable for candidates without relevant experience
The Role:
As an SEMH LSA, you will work closely with students who require additional social, emotional and mental health support to fully access education. You’ll help create a calm, safe and structured environment where students can thrive
️ Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
* Support emotional regulation, behaviour management & wellbeing
* Assist students both inside and outside the classroom
* Build strong, positive and trusting relationships with students
* Support teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams with tailored strategies
* Act as a positive role model and consistent support figure
The Ideal Candidate:
* ✅ Proven experience working with SEMH students (required)
* Calm, patient and resilient under pressure
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills
* ❤️ Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
* Confident managing challenging behaviour in a positive way

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
