Secondary English Teacher - The Role
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will:
* Teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching may be available for suitable candidates)
* Deliver engaging, inspiring lessons that foster literacy, analytical thinking, and a love of English
* Create an inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported
* Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learning needs
* Use assessment effectively to drive progress and provide constructive feedback
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery
* Contribute to enrichment and extracurricular opportunities within the English department and wider school
Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - applications welcome from both ECTs and experienced teachers
* A degree in English, English Literature, or a related discipline
* Strong subject knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for teaching English
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills
* A reflective mindset and willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
Salary & Benefits
The school offers a competitive salary in line with the Main Pay Scale to Upper Pay Scale (MPS 1 - UPS 3) Outer London, dependent on experience and qualifications.
