Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner |Altrincham | Hybrid (4 days office / 1 WFH)
We’re partnering with a fast-growing, owner-managed services business in Altrincham to appoint a Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner. With turnover already exceeding £100m and ambitious growth plans ahead, this is a standout opportunity for a newly qualified or early post-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) to step into a high-impact, commercially focused role within a scaling SME.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll join at an exciting stage of growth, taking ownership of core reporting while working closely with stakeholders across the business to drive performance and support decision-making. This is a hands-on, commercially focused role combining management accounting, financial analysis and genuine business partnering.
The Role
Own the month-end close, including accruals, prepayments and journals, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
Produce monthly management accounts with clear, insightful variance analysis (vs budget, forecast and prior year)
Maintain balance sheet integrity, ensuring reconciliations are audit-ready and risks are proactively identified
Support budgeting and forecasting, helping stakeholders understand key drivers and performance trends
Partner with non-finance stakeholders, providing meaningful insight to support commercial decisions
Deliver ad hoc analysis, translating financial data into clear, actionable recommendations
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting quality and efficiency
About You
Newly qualified or 2–3 years PQE (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Strong grounding in management accounts and month-end ownership
Commercially minded, with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to turn data into insight
Experience in a fast-paced SME, e-commerce, media or agency environment is advantageous
Proactive, organised and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving business
We’re also open to candidates moving from practice into industry, provided you have hands-on management accounting experience and are confident owning the month-end process.
