North Devon Council is looking for a Housing Triage Officer to become part of our busy Housing Options & Refugee Resettlement Team. This will be for a two year, fixed term contract.You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work flexibly to changing demands and operate in a coordinated manner with other team members and clients.If you think you have the right skills, capability and attitude to be part of our Housing & Refugee Resettlement team we would like to hear from you.This post will:Be the first point of contact for general housing enquiriesEnsure all relevant documentation is produced by the customer, compliance checks carried out and scanned to systemGather relevant background information and provide appropriate advice, in accordance with the Homeless Reduction Act 2017Issue Advice only decisions & relevant documentation then update the housing systemSupport the wider housing team in the delivery of homeless prevention and be open to personal development overtime cover Housing Officer functionsSignpost clients to relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, in relation to benefits, debt advice, food bankMaintain accurate recordsPrepared to work out of different office locations and complete off home visits, subject to risks assessments being carried outIdeally you need to:Be proficient in ICT applicationsBe a confident communicator, both written and verbal working with housing clientsEmotional intelligenceHave a background in HousingTPBN1_UKTJ
