This is a part‑time post; salary will be pro‑rata to hours worked.
West Dunbartonshire Council is recruiting an Early Learning Childcare Officer for the Andrew B Cameron Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
Contracted hours are Monday to Friday 11:00 am – 5:30 pm (30‑minute unpaid break).
Main Duties
 * Contribute to a safe, caring, and stimulating nursery environment for all children.
 * Support and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance.
 * Plan, record, implement, and evaluate suitable programmes of activities.
 * Maintain and record children’s progress and assessments.
 * Promote parent participation in the learning process.
Essential Criteria
 * Experience working with pre‑five children in a relevant setting.
 * Knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence (Early Level) and Pre‑Birth to Three guidance.
 * A flexible approach and the ability to adapt to change.
Qualifications & Registration
Applicants must hold the National Nurturing Education Bureau (NNEB) qualification or HNC in Childhood Practice, SVQ2 Social Services (Children and Young People) or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young People). Successful candidates, if not already registered with SSSC, will be required to gain registration within three months of appointment.
PVG Scheme
This post is a regulated role under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo an update check prior to a formal offer.
