About the SRO Directorate
The Strategic Resource Options (SRO) Directorate is a newly established team set up to develop a multi-billion pound portfolio of infrastructure projects. These projects aim to ensure the resilience of our customer's water supply amidst trends in population growth and climate change. The team will guide projects through development, planning, and delivery, working closely with regulators, local authorities, and the government to provide drought resilience, value for money to Thames Water customers, and minimal environmental impact.
What you’ll be doing as a Business Manager
* Reporting directly to the SRO Director and working closely with the senior leadership team, managing a range of tasks from providing briefings to the Board to troubleshooting governance, strategic, or stakeholder issues.
* Advising the Director on changes to plans and processes, horizon scanning for potential problems, and collaborating with other departments to ensure the SRO team's work is well understood across the organization.
* Gaining insight into key business discussions and decision-making processes, managing exciting projects, and developing a broad understanding of departmental management and networking within Thames Water.
What you should bring to the role
* Strong relationship-building, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyze technical data and present findings effectively to various stakeholders.
* Proactive workload management and problem-solving skills.
* Ownership of tasks with strong prioritization abilities.
* Excellent written and presentation skills, commercial awareness, and experience with Microsoft Office.
* Discretion and confidentiality are essential.
