Vehicle FitterLocation: PeterboroughSalary : £30k-£34k OTEOur client is seeking an efficient and reliable Vehicle Fitter to work in our factory, near Peterborough. The role requires a minimum of 2 years mechanical engineering experience and 2 years experience in automotive 12- volt and 48-volt electrical circuits is required. Welding would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.Job Description:As a Fitter for the UKs largest manufacturer of industrial electric vehicles, you will work in the Factory team, producing a wide range of vehicles.Working on the front line of production, you will help maintain the high standards our customers expect.
The job is challenging and interesting, with a lot of variation. Not only will you be responsible for building our own vehicles, but also for the maintenance and repair of the rental fleet.The vehicles are used across a wide variety of industries, anything from oil rigs to motor manufacturing, airports to hospitals, golf courses to wildlife parks, atomic plants to power stations and more.Experience and requirements:You will have 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, gained in an automotive, power generation, aviation, or manufacturing environments.You will be experienced in electrical fault finding, repair and general maintenance of machinery.Welding experience is an advantage, but not essentialYou can communicate clearly on technical issuesYou are comfortable prioritising tasks in a changing customer-driven environmentYou can work on your own and as part of the team, when requiredClean driving licenseThe role would suit a positive can do attitude, underpinned by an active roll the sleeves up styleYou are required to provide your own Hand Tools common to the trade, Air Tools required for the position will be supplied.Day to Day Duties:Actively participate in the on-the-job training programBuild production vehicles as per given job cardsPrepare or repair rental vehicles, as per given job cardsMeet production build target hoursEnsure you are aware of and comply with the company Health and Safety PolicyWe offer:Competitive rates - OTE 36-48kBasic Hours of work 39 per week - overtime offeredCompany profit share bonus scheme (minimum 1-year service to qualify)29 days Holiday (including bank holidays)Ongoing manufacture & inhouse technical trainingOpportunity and encouragement to progress with the company.TPBN1_UKTJ
