You will have experience in a Risk and Compliance role within the legal sector. You must have a good working knowledge of the Solicitors Regulation Authority Handbook, AML, sanctions, data protection and other relevant legislation and professional rules.Role purpose:To assist the Partners, Risk and Compliance Team and the wider firm to adhere to regulatory requirements, legislation, and best practice. This is an exciting and varied role for a highly organised, proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.What you’ll be doing:Complaints handling, including liaising with clients and staff, investigating concerns and preparing written and oral responsesConducting regulatory and thematic file reviews and managing the firm’s central record in this regardAssisting with data protection compliance including the management of data subject access requests and review of data breachesResponding to day-to-day queries from staff on issues such as AML, sanctions, confidentiality, and conflicts of interestReviewing and improving the firm’s policies, procedures and client-facing informationUpdating the Risk and Compliance Team records, analysing data and producing reports where requiredAssisting with notification requirements under the firm’s professional indemnity insuranceAssisting with Conveyancing Quality Standard complianceAttending the firm’s London office and external meetings as requiredYou will be:Educated to at least A-levelWell organisedCan use own initiativeCan prioritise workloadComputer literate with the ability to useExcel, Word, Teams and OutlookGood communicator both oral and writtenWorks well in a teamKnowledgeable of law firms and commercial practiceGood understanding of professional indemnity insuranceCan work to deadlinesWorks well under pressureDesirable:Admitted to the Role of Solicitors or CILEX QualificationThe ideal candidate will have prior experience in some or all of the areas above, either as a qualified legal professional or having worked in a Risk and Compliance role within the legal sector.
