We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Pharmacy Technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who has a planned and organised approach with an ability to prioritise own workload, work effectively independently and as a member of a team.
You must have excellent communication and organisational skills, a Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent is essential and registered with the General Pharmacy Council (GPhC).Ideally you will have completed the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway course.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the role is to improve patient care by implementing best practices and maximising prescribing safety. The post holder will help patients get the most from their medicines, improve repeat prescribing processes, lead and promote repeat dispensing/online ordering as well as aiming to reduce medicine waste.

Job responsibilities
Main duties of the job
Undertake patient-facing activities to ensure effective medicines use through shared decision-making discussions with patients.
Carry out medicines optimisation tasks including effective medicines administration (eg checking inhaler techniques)
Patient safety audits and incentive scheme actions, as directed
Support medication reviews and medicines reconciliation. Where required, utilise consultation skills to work in partnership with patient to ensure they use their medicines effectively
Synchronise medicines for patients transferring between care settings and link them with local community pharmacists as appropriate
Provide specialist expertise, where competent, to address both the public health and social care needs of patients, including lifestyle advice, service information, and help in tackling health inequalities
Support clinical pharmacists with shared care protocols
Support initiatives for antimicrobial stewardship to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing
Support the implementation of national and local prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes and other primary care settings this will be achieved through undertaking clinical audits, supporting delivery of QIPP, QOF and enhanced service targets

Qualifications
* Current registration with the GPhC
