As MWH Treatment’s service to its client, Thames Water, continues to flourish into AMP8, we are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Senior Process Engineer. Based in the Thames Water region, you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Process), which will catalyse your development. Our challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be in the region of £400M. As Senior Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Producing high-quality standard process design documents and drawings, such as process calculations, P&IDs, PFDs, Control Philosophy, taking into account health & safety requirements, specifications, and standards pertaining to the contract; Meeting the regulations and client standards requirements on each project; Conducting and coordinating studies related to Process Safety, which is a critical element of our design and client requirements; Working and coordinating the design with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, EICA, environmental) to produce a complete design for various projects; Assisting other disciplines in their design production and technical specifications with input related to process and Process Safety, fostering trust and synergy between team members; Providing active support to the delivery, commissioning, and management teams on technical issues with effective solutions; Providing feedback to your Regional Discipline Lead and the Design Manager for each project; Providing effective designs considering the whole out-turn cost, including design time, materials, erection, and impacts on other disciplines; Assisting the design manager with deliverables at different design stages; Mentoring graduates by supporting their development schemes; Maintaining files and records throughout the contract duration; Helping instill a culture where satisfying the customer is key to achieving objectives, recognizing all beneficiaries of our processes; Ensuring that designs fully consider all health and safety requirements. Essential knowledge includes clean water, wastewater, reuse, and/or sludge treatment process design; experience from other industries is welcomed. Proven ability to develop process calculations such as mass and energy balances, hydraulic calculations. Ability to think clearly under pressure; be autonomous and organized to meet deadlines and milestones; communicate effectively within and outside the project team; rationalize designs for cost-effectiveness; and work well in a team.
