Bank Enhanced Care Mental Health Nurse (Band 5)

We are recruiting to the Trust Temporary Staffing Team - Bank on Us and are seeking experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to undertake a variety of shifts through our Enhanced Therapeutic and Observation Care Team (ETOC).
We are seeking those with the experience and skills to cover shifts in a variety of different areas across the Trust including Urgent Care, Older Persons wards and Paediatrics.
Criteria for the role:
* Must have current NMC registration, and a minimum of 12 months post graduate experience in an acute mental health setting
* Be flexible and adaptable to move across different areas in the Trust
* Provide a high standard of direct patient care working closely with the ETOC team, dept/ward teams and wider specialist and multidisciplinary teams
* Have excellent communication skills, work well under pressure, good IT skills and be able to use systems such as the electronic patient records
Once you have completed the Bank Pre-Registration process you will be booked to attend the Trust's Induction Programme. This commitment is required to support and enhance your current skills and knowledge.
Main duties of the job
* Undertaking shifts as a Bank Registered Nurse on a temporary basis in a ward / department within the hospital setting.
* Working effectively and efficiently and in collaboration with the multi professional teams to deliver high quality and individualised patient care to allocated patients, providing mental health care and support for each clinical area you work on.
* Clinical duties, across a range of clinical settings, include providing one to one enhanced care for patients requiring support and supervision including patients waiting mental health assessment, psychosis, dementia and delirium care.

Job responsibilities
* Providing enhanced Therapeutic observations and care for patients requiring a higher level of intervention, supervision, and support (including continuous, within eyesight or within arms length observations, bay watch or cohorting).
* Planning, implementing and assessing direct patient care for a variety of different patients. This may be due to the patient being at risk of either injury or harm to themselves (for example, due to a fall, self-harm, deteriorating mental health condition, emotional dysregulation or behavioural disturbances, dementia, substance misuse, delirium and absconding) or to other patients or staff (for example, physical violence, damage to property or equipment).
